What is a Tempranillo wine?
One of the most commonly asked questions I get is, “what is a Tempranillo wine?” Tempranillo is a red wine grape variety that is native to Spain. It is known for producing wines that are robust, full-bodied, and fruit-forward. Here at Rusty Hook Winery, we have a delicious Tempranillo wine that showcases the bold flavors and aromas of this grape. Our Tempranillo wine is aged in oak barrels, which adds complexity and depth to the final product. It pairs well with a variety of foods, including grilled meats, aged cheeses, and spicy dishes. If you’re a fan of red wines, you definitely don’t want to miss out on trying our Tempranillo.
With that said, you may be wondering what it tastes like. Spanish Tempranillo delivers contrasting flavors of leather and cherries. The finer the wine, the more balance there is between earth and fruit. The finish is typically smooth and lingers with the taste of tannins on both sides of your mouth. Tempranillo, you may find it has a similar taste profile to both our Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon.
